The Very Revd Canon Richard Sewell is visiting Liverpool Cathedral this February

The Dean of Liverpool is very pleased to host an afternoon event at Liverpool Cathedral on Thursday 19th February, as part of a short visit to Liverpool by Richard Sewell, Dean of St George's College, Jerusalem. Below are the details of the event:
Faith and Witness under Pressure
Thursday 19th February 4pm-5pm Concert Room, Liverpool Cathedral, St James' Mount, L1 7AZ
Dean Richard will reflect on the life of the Church in Jerusalem and what it means to sustain Christian faith, hospitality, and public witness in times of political tension and uncertainty. The afternoon will include a short presentation followed by facilitated conversation.

In addition, those who are interested are warmly invited to a second, complementary session the following day:
The Church in Jerusalem Today: Faith, Pilgrimage, and Witness
Friday 20th February 12.30pm-2pm Liverpool Hope University
This session will take the form of a panel discussion, bringing together academic and ecclesial perspectives on the contemporary realities facing the Church in Jerusalem and the wider Holy Land. This session is designed to complement the cathedral event on Thursday evening.

Let Light Shine Out of Darkness: the Campaign for St. George's College

Let Light Shine out of Darkness is the title of an international appeal to friends of St George's across the globe that aims to raise 1 million pounds sterling in the first instance to ensure the College's survival through the present crisis and, beyond that, to strengthen its core finances to ensure a thriving future for the College. The British Regional Committee has the objective of raising at least 100,000 pounds sterling towards this total. Please download the Appeal leaflet and donate to the Appeal with any amount that you can. If you are a UK taxpayer and can gift aid your donation there is a Gift Aid form in the Appeal leaflet.

The St George's College Jerusalem Trust is registered with the Charity Commission and is committed to supporting the College's continuing education programme in Jerusalem. The Trust works through the British Regional Committee, one of three regional committees (there are committees in Australia and USA) supporting the College's ministry.
